Celo Public Goods (CeloPG) is a strategic initiative within the Celo ecosystem, designed to accelerate the development of applications and protocol through targeted programs and support resources.

Challenge

As Celo’s ecosystem matured, it faced several interconnected challenges:

• Funding fragmentation: Projects building public goods often relied on one-off grants, with little follow-up or long-term support, making it hard to measure outcomes or sustain impact.
• Coordination gaps: Builders, communities, and governance participants lacked shared infrastructure to discover opportunities, collaborate, and align around ecosystem priorities.
• Measuring impact: The ecosystem needed better ways to recognize and reward meaningful participation and contributions that advance Celo’s mission.

Without solving these challenges, public goods funding risked being inefficient, short-term, and unable to scale with Celo’s growing ecosystem.

CeloPG Programs and Platform

Through its programs and platform, CeloPG provides the infrastructure for builders, developers, and contributors to design, test, and scale impactful solutions. By aligning incentives with ecosystem goals, it ensures long-term sustainability, transparent rewards, and measurable outcomes for public goods on Celo.

CeloPG.eco’s programs each target specific stages of a project’s journey — from early funding and builder rewards to onchain recognition and liquidity incentives. Together, they create a cohesive support ecosystem, allowing projects to layer multiple programs at once, accelerate growth, and scale sustainably while contributing lasting value to Celo.

Prosperity Pass

Prosperity Pass is Celo’s smart account wallet and onchain identity solution, bringing all contributions into one place. It lets users link multiple wallets, claim badges for governance participation, event attendance, and onchain activity, and earn Prosperity Points to climb the leaderboard.

By turning participation into verifiable reputation, Prosperity Pass enables targeted rewards, smarter contributor journeys, and more effective resource allocation. It also unlocks yield-generating Vaults and plays a key role in future CeloPG programs, from incentive distribution at the end of each season to key users through the contributor rewards module to leveraging the Prosperity Pass levels to identify the share of dApp usage that comes from Celo Power users in the Proof of Impact program.

Celo Gather

To complement our digital tools, we launched Celo Gather, a community-led conference series designed to bring builders, contributors, and ecosystem leaders together to shape the future of the Celo ecosystem.

The inaugural Celo Gather took place in Berlin in May 2024, providing a dedicated space for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and alignment on ecosystem priorities. Following its success, we supported Celo Africa and Celo Thailand in hosting regional Gather events alongside their key conferences, creating localized hubs for connection and co-creation.

Impact

Celo Public Goods has proven the value of ecosystem-driven incentives by channeling funding, recognition, and participation to where they matter most. Through programs like Prosperity Pass, it empowers builders, strengthens community governance, and drives measurable outcomes across the Celo ecosystem.

CeloPG Programs

The Index has become the reference point for transparency across the Superchain, giving developers, governance participants, and users a trusted view of chain activity.

Prosperity Pass

Prosperity Pass has seen rapid growth and impact since its launch in May 2025. Over 2,500 accounts have been created, and nearly $150,000 is locked in Celo-native vaults.

• Unified contributor identity: link multiple Celo wallets under one account, with badges for verified identity, governance voting, event participation, and other ecosystem-aligned actions.
• Reputation & points: claim badges to earn Prosperity Points, level up your status, and climb a public leaderboard—unlocking perks, priority access, and chances to earn rewards.
• Vault-enabled yield: participate in curated vaults (e.g. deposit WETH or USDT) to start earning rewards via integrated DeFi strategies.
• Ecosystem coordination & impact metrics: acts as infrastructure for tracking contributions, mapping participant journeys, designing incentives, and measuring value flows in the ecosystem.

Looking Ahead

Building on the successes of Season 0, CeloPG aims to attract, nurture, and grow projects on Celo, regenerating the network and treasury while creating conditions for prosperity for all. The upcoming initiatives in Season 1 will continue to leverage on-chain innovations and data-driven activities to support builders and accelerate application development within the Celo ecosystem.
